Supporting a Healthier You
5 Element Acupuncture for Physical and Emotional Wellness
Nice to Meet You
Hi, my name is Dana Friedrich. I was first introduced to acupuncture in my early 20s, which changed my life. It has been a constant source of healing and inspiration for me. I look at my own struggles and journey as a guide to support and help my patients. I feel truly fortunate life has led me toward this journey of providing care, knowledge, and strength to help my patients find their inner voice, intuition, and resilience. My clinic interests include trauma, stress and anxiety support, pain management, fertility, pre and post-natal support, digestion and anti-aging acupuncture.
Early in my TCM training, I did a preceptorship with a 5 Element practitioner, and I knew I’d one day continue my training in 5E. I realized TCM had limitations and needed to go beyond symptoms and focus on the root causes of dysregulation. 5E Acupuncture helped me navigate my struggles with trauma and recovery support, and I turn to it when my patients look for more balance in their lives. 5 Element goes deeper into the body to create inner harmony and peace instead of chasing pain and symptoms. This is truly holistic medicine.
When I’m not providing care to my patients, I spend time with my two little kiddos, dog, and husband. My children are my teachers, and I’m constantly growing and expanding because of them. As a family, we enjoy camping, paddle boarding, cooking, hiking, and exploring the PNW.
My Approach
I believe in full transparency with my patients and creating a safe space for them to be open and honest. If there isn’t mutual respect, then expectations will be limited. I strive to make my patients feel heard and help them find their own path to self-care and compassion.
I am very hands on. Common tools I use are my needles, electro acupuncture, cupping, trigger point release, moxibustion, percussor therapy and homeopathic injections when needed. I don’t chase pain, I figure out why someone is having pain. Mental anguish leads to physical pain and vice versa. I’m always doing points to calm the nervous system, improve circulation and promote healing from within. This is true holistic medicine.
What Is Trauma-Informed Care
The first step is to recognize how common trauma is and to understand that every patient may have experienced trauma. It is also important to note there are many types of trauma. Trauma-informed care is the open-mindedness and compassion that all patients deserve because anyone can have a history that impacts their encounter with the medical system.
